Network with other women in the technology industry, enjoy refreshments, fun raffles, games, and activities like Jeopardy, a photo booth and Puzzle stations. Hear from a panel of Yahoo! women on their experiences in the tech industry. Learn the latest about cutting-edge Yahoo! products like LiveStand, Hadoop, Connected TV, YSlow and more.

About our featured girl geeks:

Ellen Salisbury (Yahoo! VP of Engineering Transformation) is the VP of Engineering Transformation in the Office of the CTO at Yahoo! In this role, she is driving change in tools and processes across the Products organization. Ellen first came to Yahoo! in 2004 with the acquisition of Stata Labs. After a short stint in engineering, she built and ran Yahoo! Research Berkeley, an advanced development group working in the areas of mobile, social and video. She left Yahoo! in 2007 to return to the startup world and spent several years building and running a small venture firm doing seed level investing and startup incubation. Ellen started her career in tech as a developer, then she moved into engineering management. She has been the VP of Engineering in a number of large and small companies over her long career in the computer industry. She rejoined Yahoo! in January of 2011.

Fay Hellal (Yahoo! Director of Global Advertising and Product Marketing) understands Yahoo! Advertisers’ needs globally and defines new revenue opportunities. Prior to Yahoo!, Fay worked for pre-IPO and Fortune 100 companies in US, Europe and Africa. She held various leadership positions driving product management, business development and strategy for Vodafone, Nokia, and Netscape. Fay has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in computer science from the “Institue Superieure de Gestion” in Paris and Tunisia respectively. Fay enjoys travelling, sculpting her thoughts on marble and wood, tasting and collecting wine and can’t seem to get enough of her “epicurious” app where she’s learning to cook.

Lyn Campbell (Yahoo! Director of Media Service Engineering) has over 20 years of experience as part of Engineering organizations in such companies as Sybase, Portera Systems, WebEx, and Intraware. She has managed a broad range of disciplines, including Information Development, QA, Build and Release, Customer Operations, Technical Support, and Account Management. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, she is currently Director of Media Service Engineering at Yahoo! Lyn and her husband live in Benicia with their two large dogs that they take hiking, swimming, and on trips to Tahoe whenever possible.

Mrinalini Kurup (Yahoo! Service Engineer) is a recent graduate of USC, having completed her MSEE degree in May 2010. She completed her Bachelor of Technology, Electronics and Communications from GGSIP University in New Delhi, India. She has held internships at both USC and Lucasfilm Entertainment. She joined Yahoo! in June and has jumped into the world of Large Scale Production Engineering with both feet. In her role as a Service Engineer, she is learning first-hand about the complexities of a large scale-computing environment. At the same time, she is making the work world better for her peers. Within her first 9 months at Yahoo!, she has already won a major internal award acknowledging her achievement in innovation. In her free time, Mrinalini loves to travel.

Wendy Burruel (Yahoo! Director of Program Management, Service Engineering) has over 15 years experience in the technology sector leading technical teams with specialties in workforce strategy and planning, coaching and motivating employees and executives, and creating and delivering training. She holds both BA and MA degrees in Psychology, which give her unique perspectives and approaches in leading technical teams. She was at Yahoo! in technical management and training roles from 2003 – 2008 and returned in 2009 to build the global hiring, training and communications programs for Service Engineering. In her free time, Wendy enjoys traveling, writing and being outdoors.
