A creative makerspace which exists to engage, encourage and empower everyone to build their dreams, TechShop is looking forward to hosting its first Bay Area Girl Geek Dinner in the shop!
Sponsored by Autodesk and Instructables, the TechShop Girl Geek Dinner on August 14th, 2013 (5:30pm – 8:30pm) will demonstrate how the maker movement is propelling everything from learning new skills to rapid prototyping and launching new businesses.
Come, get involved, meet expert designers and, more importantly, MAKE SOMETHING!

Build your own Instructables Lego jewelry; laser and silkscreen your own Girl Geek swag*; welding for beginners and a bit of 3D printing. Try your hand at creating creatures with Autodesk 123D Creature. Lots of hands-on projects and photo ops with sparks!

* For silkscreening, bring your own light-colored cotton or broadcloth t-shirts, bags or scraps of material.
IMPORTANT: You must wear closed-toe shoes in the shop.
Transportation: The closest Caltrain stop is 4th and King, and the Powell BART station is 3 blocks away. There is limited parking on the street and in TechShop’s private lot for $10.
