About the Splunk Geeks – Bios
Tracy Edkins (Chief Human Resources Officer, Senior Vice President)
Tracy Edkins has served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer since 2015. Prior to joining Splunk, Ms. Edkins served as Vice President of Human Resources, Global Product and Technology at eBay, an e-commerce company, from 2012 to 2015. From 2009 to 2012, Ms. Edkins served as Senior Director, Human Resources at eBay. Previously, Ms. Edkins served in a variety of senior management roles at Starbucks, Blast Radius and Business Objects. Ms. Edkins holds an advanced B.A. from the University of Manitoba.
Haiyan Song (Senior Vice President, Security Markets, Splunk)
Haiyan has been with Splunk since 2014 and currently serves as our Senior Vice President, Security Markets. From 2012 to 2014, Ms. Song served as Vice President and General Manager of HP ArcSight, a security and compliance management company previously acquired by Hewlett- Packard Company. From 2005 to 2012, Ms. Song served as Vice President of Engineering at ArcSight. Ms. Song previously served as Vice President of Engineering at SenSage, an event data warehousing company, from 2004 to 2005. Ms. Song started her career at IBM/Informix, a database software company.
Ms. Song holds a M.S. from Florida Atlantic University and studied Computer Science in Tsinghua University in China. Since joining Splunk, Ms. Song’s strategic leadership has led to widespread industry and analyst recognition for Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security. In 2016, Ms. Song achieved one of her most personally rewarding accolades, being named one of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Tech by the National Diversity Council.
Vi Ly (AVP, Global Pre-Sales Strategy and Operations, Splunk)
Vi is responsible for driving key strategic initiatives of the worldwide Sales Engineering organization, which include discovery, standardization and communication of best practices, leading with reporting and analytics, and ensuring an effective teamwork model. She is also responsible for aligning and collaborating with business partners in Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Engineering and Human Resources. A fan of geeks, diversity and problem solving, Vi holds a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Willamette University.
Kelly Kitagawa (Sales Engineer, Splunk)
Kelly has been with Splunk since 2013 and has served as a Splunk Sales Engineer since 2016. Prior to her sales engineering role, Kelly was an IT Project Manager focusing on Splunk internal systems and vendor management. Before joining Splunk, Kelly was a consultant at Accenture building out large scale system integrations for three years. Kelly holds a degree in Computer Engineering from University of California, Santa Cruz.
Susan Rusconi (Director Leadership Development)
Susan Rusconi is the director of leadership development at Splunk where she designs and delivers strategic leadership programs which align with the business strategy of the company and supports the growth and development of Splunk’s leaders. Her programs include the Splunk New Leader program, a virtual program that includes 1:1 coaching for new people managers, a Core Management Program for people managers focusing on Splunk’s core competencies, and a Strategic Leadership Program which focuses on business acumen and leading in a high growth environment. In addition Susan facilitates customized development sessions for teams. Prior to Splunk Susan was head of leadership development and worked in sales enablement at Adobe, and prior to that she held a variety of positions in marketing and field enablement at Silicon Graphics. Susan received her Bachelor of Science in Development, Resource, and Consumer Economics from the University of California, Davis and her MBA from Santa Clara University.
Fred McAmis (Sr. Director of Learning and Development and Employee Communications)
Fred oversees programs, such as leadership development, employee communications, performance management, employee development, coaching and onboarding at Splunk. These programs weave together to ensure that after people join Splunk they have many opportunities to develop themselves professionally. Some notable recent programs that we launch are the Sr. Leadership Program, The employee portal, Goal Management across the organization and an upgraded employee communications program. Prior to joining Splunk, Fred was an independent HR consultant focusing primarily on team development and executive coaching. He also held senior HR postions at Hyperion, Autodesk, and Octel Communications. He started his career in an engineering services role for Sun Microsystems. Fred holds a BA in Psychology from UC Davis and an MA in Management from JFK University.
